How We Transformed A Bride’s Childhood Home Into Her Dream Wedding
Before you write off a backyard wedding as an overly casual affair know that there are endless opportunities to transform a backyard into anything you could imagine! Such a stunning transformation required nearly a dozen site visits, multiple logistical meetings with vendors, thousands of lights, a multiple-day setup, and one amazingly talented team of wedding vendors who knocked it out of the park!
While there are many advantages to hosting a backyard wedding and due to Covid, it’s become an increasingly popular idea for engaged couples. Unfortunately not every backyard is a good candidate. Some couples may think that having a backyard wedding will save money but I will be the first to tell you that a well-executed event focused on guest experience will actually cost about the same amount if not more than having your wedding at a traditional venue space. There are so many logistical obstacles that you will need to overcome with a backyard wedding including bringing absolutely everything in from generators to chairs and everything in between. Not investing in a team that has the ability to pull off such a feat would be an enormous and costly mistake.
Due to Covid, Sarah and Glynn decided to postpone their wedding which was originally planned to be held at Piedmont Driving Club this past April. They decided that an outdoor space was a priority to keep their guests as safe as possible. We toured Sarah’s childhood home as a potential option and upon canvasing the space and researching requirements to hold an event in the county, we gave the couple the green light to proceed with plans to host their wedding there.
